Man Accused Of Trying To Kidnap Central California Girl, 4

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- A Fresno man has been arrested after police say he tried to lure a 4-year-old girl away from her grandmother several times.

The Fresno Bee reports 31-year-old Juan Rocha Molina faces charges of attempted kidnapping and vehicle theft stemming from the incident Monday.

Police say Molina approached the girl Monday morning and tried to lure her away by offering her a keychain as a toy. Her grandmother intervened and Molina left. He returned a short time later and tried to snatch the girl again. She was ushered inside a home by her grandmother, who called 911.

When deputies arrived at the home, they searched the nearby area and found Molina parked in a church parking lot. He was arrested, and investigators soon learned the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Fresno over the weekend.

Police continue to investigate. It was not immediately known if Molina has an attorney.
