Lodi Robbery Victim Arrested After Running Down Suspect

LODI (CBS13) – A Lodi man who had been robbed at gunpoint was arrested after running down one of the suspected robbers in front of police officers he had called for help.

Officers were responding to a reported armed robbery at a home in the 400 block of E. Locust Street in Lodi just after midnight. The suspects were reported to be on bicycles.

Police initially could not find the suspects, but as they were searching, the victim, 42-year-old Humberto Ramos drove up to them on Vine Street. Although, officers could not understand Ramos who was speaking Spanish, he was able to say "Follow me."

Officers followed Ramos westbound on Vine Street when they spotted the two suspects. Before officers could stop, Ramos swerved and intentionally hit one of the suspects with his car knocking him to the ground.

The second suspect then stopped and both were arrested. One of the suspects, 23-year-old Victor Alvarado had a loaded 9mm Beretta which had been reported stolen. The other suspect, 29-year-old Adam Ramirez, had several hundred dollars in cash which they had stolen from Ramos, according to police.

Ramirez was booked into jail on robbery charges. Alvarado f aces robbery, multiple weapons violations, and possession of stolen property.

Ramos, the robbery victim had a no bail warrant for his arrest. He was also charged with DUI and assault with a deadly weapon.
