Little Joe Loudmouth: Watch As The Rams Make Fools Of The Seahawks, Twice!

Peyton Manning abused a beat up 49ers defense in a record setting performance last night, so as a Niners fan there's not much joy to take away from Sunday.  The little joy I did get came courtesy of Jeff Fisher and the Rams as they beat the defending champion Seahawks 28-26.

Fisher out coached Pete Carroll and fooled the Seahawks not once, but twice!  The first came in the 2nd quarter.  The Rams were up 14-3 and forced the Seahawks to punt.  Fisher and his team scouted Jon Ryan, the Seahawks punter, perfectly!  Tavon Austin was back on the defensive left side of the field.  Ryan, when punting from the middle of the field typically kicks the ball to the defensive right side of the field.  So when he punt the ball, all the Rams ran down towards Austin and the Seahawks followed.  All the Rams except one, Stedman Bailey.  Bailey went to the opposite side of the field and returned the punt 86 yards for the TD.  Absolutely brilliant.  Take a look.

The second trick play came late in the 4th.  Behind another great game by Russell Wilson, the Seahawks found themselves back in the game, only trailing 28-26.  Fisher, who didn't want to give the ball back to Wilson, found his team backed up against their own endzone facing a forth down.  He sent out his punter Johnny Hekker and the special teams unit.  Unfortunately for the Seahawks, Hekkler didn't punt, he passed.  In a ballsy move, Fisher called a fake punt that worked as Hekker connected with Benny Cunningham for the first down.  Enjoy.

So despite the Niners falling to Manning and the Broncos, thanks to these 2 plays I did find a little joy yesterday as the defending champs drop their second in a row and now sit 3-3 on the season.  Thank you Mr. Fisher.
