Inmate, 59, Found Unresponsive At Sacramento County Jail, Dies
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of an inmate Sunday morning.
Deputies say the 59-year-old man was found unresponsive in his Sacramento County Jail cell just after 9:30 a.m. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving efforts, but the man was soon pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the death is not suspicious, but a full inmate-death investigation will be undertaken.
The man, who is not being identified at this time, had been in custody since Nov. 3 on a weapon-related warrant, deputies say.
