Hundreds Of People With Tickets To Local High School Graduation Ceremony Shut Out

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Hundreds of people were locked out of a Sacramento graduation ceremony on Wednesday. Many said they had legitimate tickets to be inside.

Upset parents of John F. Kennedy High School students say they've missed a priceless moment. We were outside Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento with roughly 200 people who say they were locked out.

Parents told us they arrived on time, paid $20 for an extra ticket and were still denied access to the building.

"Somebody does need to be held accountable. We can't get this moment back," said Shawna Hunter, a parent.

Sacramento City Unified School District officials say the school issued 400 tickets fewer than the building's capacity. They say it's possible late-arriving parents or people with fake tickets were kept outside.
