Hazmat Call Yields Discovery Of Explosive Chemicals
FAIR OAKS, Calif. (CBS13) – A Sacramento County resident has been arrested after authorities found chemicals that could be used to create explosives inside his home.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said they received a call Tuesday evening reporting a suspicious smell coming from a home near Kitty Hawk Street and Aerobee Avenue.
Sacramento Metro Fire Department hazmat crews said they found material that could be used as explosives, but no explosive devices.
The resident has been arrested for possession of chemicals used in explosive devices. The suspect has not yet been identified.
