Roommate arrested in fatal early morning house fire

SACRAMENTO COUNTY -- A man has been arrested after his roommate was found dead in a house fire early Sunday morning.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's homicide detectives arrested 61-year-old Tyrone Gregory on voluntary manslaughter just before noon, hours after the incident.

Around 1:15 a.m., Sacramento Metro Fire Department was called to the 9400 block of Roseburg Court in unincorporated Sacramento County for a structure fire.

They say they arrived to heavy fire coming from the front of the home where four victims were inside at the time. Two were able to self-rescue, while crews rescued a third victim, according to the fire department.

The fourth person was found dead inside the home, and firefighters called the sheriff's department to investigate.

Arson investigators and homicide detectives responded to the scene.

Two of the fire victims were taken by ambulance to the hospital with unknown injuries. The person killed has not yet been identified.
