Fire Burning In Tuolumne County Canyon Near Sonora

TUOLUMNE COUNTY (CBS13) — A fire has burned more than 100 acres in a remote part of Tuolumne County.

Cal Fire says the fire is burning in a canyon making access to it difficult. About 125 personnel are working the incident at this time, including five air tankers.

The fire started around 3 p.m. off of New Peoria Flat Road and Old Melones Road, west of Sonora.

Temperatures in the area were in the mid 90s.
