Woman, 35, Rescued From American River Expected To Survive

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The a woman who had to be pulled out of the American River Saturday morning is expected to survive, officials say.

Park Rangers responded to what were originally reports of a body floating in the American River near Tisconia Park, just after 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Sacramento Fire Department already had water rescue crews in the area for training and quickly pulled the unresponsive, 35-year-old female swimmer out of the water.

According to a Sacramento Fire Department spokesperson, the swimmer was administered Advanced Life Support care and was quickly transported to UC Davis Medical Center.

The swimmer is said to be from a nearby park. She is expected to be OK.
