Drug Deal Behind Triple Shooting At Busy Roseville Shopping Center

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Roseville Police believe a drug deal is behind a fatal shooting Saturday night in a parking lot near several family restaurants and a gas station on Galleria Boulevard.

The shooting happened at 8:13 pm across from the Galleria Mall in Roseville on Saturday night leaving three people shot, one fatally.

Police believe five men, all acquainted in one way or another, got inside a grey van in the parking to conduct a deal involving a large amount of methamphetamine.

Four of the men instead attempted to rob the drug dealer, police say, and that is when gunfire erupted inside the van. Three of the five men were shot.

One of the men, who was not injured, fled in his own car before emergency crews arrived. He was later identified as 29-year-old Francisco Cabrera-Silva of Roseville. His picture has not been released.

Two men got out of the van at the parking lot. One was not hurt and immediately arrested. He's been identified as 46-year-old Hector Jiminez Perez of Sacramento.

The other collapsed in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Police have not released his name because he has not been arrested or charged as of yet.

Two other men stayed in the van and took off. One was shot in the leg but was still able to drive the van to Mercy San Juan Hospital. He was treated and eventually released and arrested. He's been identified as 41-year-old Harold Lee Allen of Sacramento.

The other man died from his wound before arriving at the hospital. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

Police anticipate that all surviving suspects will be charged with homicide.

"Violent crimes like this are extremely rare in Roseville. It's important for people to know that this wasn't a random event, but a planned criminal transaction among people who knew each other," said Roseville Police Chief Daniel Hahn. "It's very unfortunate that this group picked a busy and popular area on a Saturday night, near restaurants and other businesses, to conduct their illegal activity. We're thankful that that no innocent bystanders were injured."
