Dr. Phil Turns To Puppy Beyonce's Home After Saving Jindo Dog, Pups
EL DORADO HILLS (CBS13) - Eight puppies and their mother were just hours away from being euthanized when they were saved by Dr. Phil, who called The Grace Foundation in El Dorado Hills.
These days the foundation is known by another name: home to Beyonce.
The group saved baby Beyonce the dog when she was barely the size of a business card. Since then, her story's been told all over.
"Oh, it's been wonderful to see her progress," foundation executive director Beth DeCaprio said. "And I think what's so important to see is not just the country, but the world rally around her."
That's how Dr. Phil heard about the foundation. And they were his first call after hearing another story of a mom and her litter of puppies that were about to be put down.
It's close to Dr Phil's heart. The dogs are Jindos, a North Korean breed. Dr. Phil has one at home.
"Dr. Phil stopped the euthanasia that was scheduled for that day, and we had them the next day," DeCaprio said.
And now they're with a foster family. The mother and her eight pups are doing great.
"They're just growing and getting socialized and very soon they'll be up for adoption," she said.
And thanks to Beyonce, more dogs will be saved. She's a big star with a cause.
"Beyonce's campaign is SNAP to it America, which is spay, neuter, adopt and protect our rescued animals," DeCaprio said.
She's a little dog that's commanding big attention, and already inspiring action.
"She is not only the world's smallest but I believe the world's cutest," DeCaprio said.
