Davis Man Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping Attempt

DAVIS (CBS13) -- The Davis Police Department has arrested a 27-year-old Davis resident named Sander Ian Findlay on suspicion of kidnapping, according to a press release from the department.

On December 14, 2016, around 4:00 p.m. Davis Police officers responded to the area of Oceano Way and Arena Drive in Davis for a reported attempted kidnapping involving a female junior high student.

According to the victim, she was walking home from school when an adult male jumped out from behind a fence and grabbed her by the wrist. She reported that she was able to pull away from the subject and run away.

Following an intensive investigation, Davis Police detectives were able to secure a search warrant for Findlay, who was arrested following the search. Findlay was lodged at Yolo County Jail and the investigation will be sent to the District Attorney for charging.
