Damaged Hydrant Floods Antelope Neighborhood
ANTELOPE (CBS13) - An Antelope neighborhood is a little soggy this morning after a broken hydrant spewed hundreds of gallons of water into the streets.
The damaged hydrant, in the 85 hundred block of Chamonix Court, sprayed a fountain of water into the air for about a half an hour before it could be shut off.
Neighbors say young drivers race their cars up and down the street and wouldn't be surprised if that is what caused the hydrant to break.
Officers aren't sure if that's what happened but witnesses say they saw a car speed off from the area.
No word on damage to any houses or cars.
