Concerns Over Possible Explosive Stop B-Line Bus On Highway 149 In Butte County

BUTTE COUNTY (CBS13) — A transit bus was stopped after its driver reported a possible explosive device on board on Tuesday.

The incident happened on a B-Line bus traveling from Chico to Oroville on Highway 149 near Shippee Road on Tuesday afternoon. About 40 people were reportedly on board.

The California Highway Patrol said something happened on the bus involving a passenger that caused the driver to believe there may have been an explosive device on the bus, so that driver triggered a silent alarm.

Highway 149 has been closed in both directions during the investigation.

CHP officers met with the driver on the freeway and are inspecting the bus.
