Man Arrested For Randomly Shooting At Central California Motorists

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities in central California say they have arrested a man suspected of randomly shooting at least 10 vehicles in Fresno and Madera Counties. A woman was wounded by shrapnel.

The Fresno Bee reports 42-year-old Jorge Gracia is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Gracia is accused of using a semi-automatic firearm during the shootings in November and December.

Authorities have not given a motive in the shootings but plan to hold a news conference Friday.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office the shootings started Nov. 27. It says eight vehicles were struck by bullets in Fresno County and another two in Madera County. In each case, the victims said a pickup truck passed them heading the opposite direction.

Officials offered a $3,000 reward for information leading to the shooter's arrest.
