Buy It And Try It: The Egg & Muffin Toaster

For more than 50 years Little Joes on Del Paso has been an institution. It sits along old U.S. 40. Here they still use a cash register from 1959.

George Halaway took over after his dad Joe passed away three years ago. He's a skeptic about anyone or anything that claims to make a better and quicker breakfast.

"I think we're faster," said George.

So we put in front of him The Egg and Muffin Toaster. With the touch of a button, it's supposed to make a breakfast sandwich in a matter of about four minutes.

"I think this is just goofy, it really is," said George.

It's got a place to cook an egg, warm pre-cooked meat, and toast an English muffin or bread.

"It's too complicated for me," said George.

His chef Cookie is a skeptic too and challenges us to a race, saying her breakfasts are quicker and better.

She cracks an egg and we're off. Sure enough, in less than a minute we've got a cooked egg, bacon and hash browns. A good old-fashioned breakfast.

About four minutes later the toaster pops, and light is off, showing our stuff for a breakfast sandwich is done.

A quick taste by myself, and it's good. So what's the verdict from George the skeptic?

"It did work, it did work... I wouldn't recommend it," suggested George.

It's still a tough sell to old-fashioned George who likes his skillet and a lot more food for breakfast.

You can find the toaster online for $39.99 at the Back to Basic Products website.
