Best Spots In Sacramento For A Father's Day Drink With Dad

Really anywhere is a great place for a drink with your dad because you're together. On this list are a few places that will be perfect to take your dad. Father's Day is definitely an understated, and sometimes under celebrated, holiday, especially if compared with the fanfare associated with Mother's Day. We have a little bit of everything for you and dad to do on this particular day. Whether your father likes beer, bowling, billiards or just getting his grub on, you will find a specific destination to make your day complete right here.
The Blue Cue
1004 28th St.
Sacramento, CA 95816
(916) 441-6810

This second floor downtown hot-spot is a whole different place during the day. I don't know many people who don't enjoy playing pool. Blue cue has really nice tables and they only charge $12 per hour on the weekends. There are a few TVs if you want to catch a game while you're shooting pool. If you want something else to do, you can throw a game of darts. There are comfy couches all around the edge of the giant open floor plan, and cocktail tables throughout the bar. If you're hungry, try 'The Cowboy'- an all beef hotdog wrapped in hickory smoked bacon served with a side of Guinness BBQ and coleslaw for only $6! Bacardi Mojito Pitchers are an unheard of at $20, with flavors like minty original, blueberry, raspberry, or strawberry to choose from.

Track 7 Brewing Co
3747 W. Pacific Ave.
Sacramento, CA 95820
(916) 520-4677

It's hard to believe that Track 7 opened over three years ago in the roll-up-door warehouse near the railroad tracks by City College. They have built an amazing following since then, and they have some really amazing beers. They regularly have food trucks stop by so you can get some of the best food in town. The grand opening of their first location was so popular, all they had left on tap was stout because all the other beers were sold out. In the beginning of 2015, they opened another location in Natomas. You can find a schedule of food trucks and list of beers on tap on their website.

Dad's Kitchen
8928 Sunset Ave.
Fair Oaks, CA 95628
(916) 241-9365

What better place to bring your dad? If you do end up going on a Sunday, you can enjoy their amazing brunch. Kick back a few mimosa's and watch some sports at the bar. Some not-to-be-missed dishes are the French toast - brioche bread with sliced bananas, orange zest syrup, and your choice of bacon, Black Forest ham, or chicken jalapeño mango sausage; and the Dad Burger- grass fed/grass finished 5 Dot Ranch beef 8 oz patty encrusted with bleu cheese crumbles and chopped bacon, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and house-made Aleppo chili spread. The burger comes with fries but literally any other side can be substituted for a price. You can even sub a quinoa patty for meat. Dad's also has over a dozen beers on tap.

The River City Saloon
916 2nd St.
Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 443-6852

River City is a fun, old fashioned saloon where everyone throws their peanut shells on the floor. A great special they have is with any pint of beer you can get a shot of Jack Daniels for $2. They definitely have the best Bloody Mary in Old Sacramento, a great thing to drink on a Sunday during brunch. There's always music playing, and they have a couple of pool tables and arcade games. All of their appetizers are fried with a hot air fryer, which cuts down on the grease and calories and still tastes great. They have various sandwiches as well. Every Thursday night you can enjoy live music.

FLB Sports Bar & Casino
511 E. Bidwell St.
Folsom, CA 95630
(916) 983-4411

FLB is not just a sports bar, it is an entertainment mecca. The Dreher Family has owned and operated FLB for the last 30 years. It truly is a family affair, even employing the third generation the Dreher family. In recent years, all aspects of FLB have been upgraded, the casino, bowling alley and bar. The bowling areas are comfortable and modern, and the food is better than average pub fare. The roast beef dip is crispy and juicy with some great au jus which is excellent with mushrooms and swiss cheese. If cards are your thing, the casino deals no-limit, hold-em three card poker and more. They are open til 2 a.m., 365 days a year, including Christmas.
