Best Places To Eat Before The Show In Sacramento

One of the best things about Sacramento is that, in addition to a wide variety of amazing restaurants, there is also a large music community. You can find live bands, amazing DJs and aspiring artists performing every night of the week. To help you narrow down where to go when you're looking for a bite to eat before a concert, we've listed some of our favorite places near some of the biggest venues in Sacramento.

Oshima Sushi and Fugu Lounge
2071 Natomas Crossing Drive
Sacramento, CA 95834
(916) 515-1958

Oshima Sushi and Fugu Lounge is the perfect restaurant for those catching a concert at Sleep Train Arena. Close to the arena and right off the freeway, Oshima offers a variety of beers, cocktails and, of course, delicious sushi. If you are in the mood to try something different, ask about the rolls created by the bartenders. Oshima is open late with daily specials and happy hours, so it is ideal for those looking to avoid the traffic home. However, as a word of caution to the driver, the bartenders here tend to make their drinks on the strong side.

Capital Dime
1801 L St., Suite 50
Sacramento, CA 95811
(916) 443-1010

For those heading to Midtown to catch a concert at Ace of Spades, stop at Capital Dime for dinner. It is a new restaurant specializing in new American cuisine, with a surprising sense of humor, fair prices and a simple, but great, menu. If you are in the mood for seafood, try the pan-roasted salmon, which is paired with a corn salsa and potatoes. However, if you're in the mood for something a little different, the fresh melon with wild white prawn and fresh mozzarella is as delicious and refreshing as its name is long.

Mulvaney's B&L
1215 19th St.
Sacramento, CA 95811
(916) 441-6022

If you are heading to Harlow's for the night and are looking for a place to woo your date, Mulvaney's B&L is the place for you. Heralded as one of the nicest restaurants in Sacramento, you can expect a pricey menu and a need for reservations. However, everything that comes out of Mulvaney's kitchen is worth every penny you pay. While its menu changes daily, the dessert menu stays relatively the same, which is fortunate, as its Valhrona chocolate pie is what dreams are made of.

Burgers and Brew
1409 R St.
Sacramento, CA 95811
(916) 442-0900

Burgers and Brew is another great restaurant for those heading to Ace of Spades, which is right next door. Burgers and Brew offers quintessential concert food: chili fries, beer-battered onion rings, cheese steaks and big, juicy burgers. In addition to its great prices and mouthwatering food, it has over 30 beers on tap to choose from, and another 70 or so bottled. If you find yourself exiting Ace of Spades on a nice night, grab a seat on the patio and order a Guinness float, which is even more amazing than it sounds.

Ella Dining Room and Bar
1131 K St.
Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 443-3772

If you are spending your evening at the Crest Theater and want some upscale food, then Ella Dining Room and Bar is your place. While its food comes with a hefty price tag, everything on the menu is exceptional. For the carnivores out there, order the cedar plank pork belly, which is decadent, delicious and absolutely melts in your mouth. One of the best things about Ella is that in addition to its amazing menu, it also offers seasonal specials. Should you be lucky enough to come across them, the lobster specials may just outshine your evening entertainment.
