Best Cocktail Happy Hours In Sacramento

Who doesn't like a good happy hour? The word happy is right there for Pete's sake. Thankfully happy hour almost always consists of more than one hour and can include a myriad of different things. Our local bars have the cure for what ails you and certainly know how to attract the masses with a good happy hour. Of course, specials always include drinks and some include food which wraps the package quite nicely. Some places have happy hour later the day, and some revolve around sporting events. The only real way to find out what's what is to read on.

Some of us remember the cramped Cornerstone of yesteryear, and when another bar tried to bring it back, but those memories will seem distant after visiting the location on J right next door to the original. It's open and inviting with high ceilings and a great natural stone bar. Happy hour is Monday through Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. with a special game day happy hour during NFL games. For $4 or less, you can get your grub on with fish tacos, pork sliders, potstickers, wings and more. Well drinks are an unheard of $3, and Miller High Life is only $2 a pint. During the NFL games, it gets even better with "score-based" specials like a $4 Crown Royal when a field goal is scored.

Fro's has a great atmosphere and incredible sushi. Located in a shopping center near CSUS, you would never know what a great hot spot it is. Well drinks and draft beers are $3.50. Seven-dollar Sapphire, $5 Jameson and a lengthy list of other $5 premium liquors help round out the amazing drink specials. Happy hour isn't just about the alcohol; gyoza, won-tons, lumpia and a huge list of happy hour rolls really hit the spot.

Foundation has a great location downtown next to what will be the new arena for the Sacramento Kings. This bar/restaurant is poised to be the next great hot spot. Happy hour is every day from 3 to 6:30 p.m. The baby back ribs and the chili cheese fries pair perfectly with a pint of Track Seven's Panic IPA, only $5 during happy hour. Two appetizers and a beer for around $20 with tip is hard to beat when it comes to quality "farm to table" cuisine. Keep an eye on this bar, it may be the next big thing we've all been waiting for.

It's that place that's always packed on the corner of K and 16th. Maybe you've passed it on your way somewhere else. Well, it's time to stop in for happy hour. Bento Box has have 24 rolls on a 50-percent-off menu anytime. Happy hour constantly changes, but some of the highlights are $3 gyoza, $4 BBQ chicken, $6 three-piece hand rolls, $5 sangria, $3 Guiness, $3 sake bombs and a whole lot more. This spot even has by-the-pound shellfish, as low as $9.99/lb. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday happy hour is all day.

Comfy chairs, a huge sushi station and a couple projection TVs make this place a perfect spot to sit back, relax and enjoy yourself. Sapporo doesn't just have great sushi, it also serves up some killer hot dishes. Its happy hour features some of the best rolls and one of the standouts is the Godzilla roll –fried tempura, BBQ eel, yellowtail, avocado, masago and "Paradise Sauce." It's only $7 during happy hour. The gyoza and mixed tempura are great to start with at under $5. House wine and well drinks are $4, and draft beers only $3. Happy hour runs seven days a week; Monday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
