Every year the GRAMMYs picks one legendary musical act to honor in a special that airs following the awards show. Last year it was the Beatles, who also received a tribute on GRAMMY night from band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. This year Stevie Wonder will have his time in the spotlight.
The event takes place in Los Angeles at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, and it will be hosted by LL Cool J, who is also the emcee of the 57th GRAMMY Awards, which air Feb. 8 on CBS.
“Stevie Wonder is an icon who forever changed the world of music with his extraordinary gifts, pure talent, kind spirit and incredible sense of humor,” LL COOL J said in a statement. “I am honored to host this special show filled with incredible talent as we pay homage to the one and only Stevie Wonder.”
Janelle Monae, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Willie Nelson and Usher are among those who were already announced as performers at the event.
