Americans On Alert In 1-Year Anniversary Of Bin Laden's Death

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - American security officials are on high alert on the eve of Osama Bin Laden's death. There are concerns that terrorists might attack U.S. flights again and even transport bombs in their own bodies.

A year ago the world watched as President Obama announced the death of Osama Bin Laden, the man behind the September 11 attacks of the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Now, there are fears that the anniversary of this historic win for the United States could bring revenge, the retaliation some feared after Bin Laden's death.

ABC News reports the attacks could come in the form of body bombs, surgically implanted inside the suicide bomber and set to go off in the U.S.

It's a method Homeland Security has heard about before, and so has terror expert Jerry Van Dyke.

"I do think this sort of sophistication, this sort of desire to win the war against the infidel, against the West, against their enemy, I do think -- without causing undo fear -- is out there and we have to be aware of it," he said.

A year ago, crowds gathered in celebration. Now, there's a new warning to stay vigilant, something Americans have gotten used to these past 11 years.
