'N-Word' Sprayed In Modesto Park

MODESTO (CBS13) -- A racial slur was found in the middle of a playground used by a nearby middle school, and has taken several days for authorities to cover up the vandalism.

The three-word phrase, which contained the "n-word," was spray painted in red right in the middle of the playground near Ustach Middle School earlier this week.

Parents said they were surprised to still see the vandalism uncovered on Friday night.

"That is just not appropriate and nothing that we want anywhere near our schools," said Sylvan Union school board member Chad Brown.

The Modesto Police Department said they hope to have the message erased overnight. No arrests have been made in the incident.
