The Moundsville Penitentiary in West Virginia was an extremely violent correctional facility and over its 119 years of operation many died within its walls.
Some say their haunted spirits remain trapped forever, including a "shadow man," who not surprisingly, lurks in the building's dark corners.

The Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, W.Va.
This asylum became home to thousands of mentally ill patients, starting in 1864. Hundreds of the patients died here before the facility finally closed in 1994.

La Fonda is an old west hotel with its share of violent history - from hangings to gunfights to a famous suicide. Paranormal hunters say some of those guests are still guests at the hotel and even dine in the restaurant every now and then. Word is they aren't very good tippers.
