Microsoft chairman Bill Gates delivers a pre-show keynote address at the 40th annual Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 7, 2007, in Las Vegas. In his 11th annual speech headlining the world's largest tech convention, Gates praised the electronics industry saying it had come further then ever in delivering a connected lifestyle, with digital content able to be shared across a variety of devices in the home.

To commemorate its millionth flat panel Ambilight TV, Philips is offering a diamond-covered 42-inch LCD TV to be auctioned for charity.
