2 Dead After Wrong-Way Driver Collides With Vehicle On I-95 South

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Two people are dead after a man drove the wrong way on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday morning.

The two-car accident happened just after 7 a.m. between Woodhaven and Academy Roads.

Police say a man was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 and collided head-on with another vehicle.

The driver who was traveling the wrong way was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passengers of the vehicle that was struck were taken to an area hospital.

A passenger that was inside that vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital.

All lanes on I-95 South have reopened.

Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the crash.
