Seizing Teen Attacked By Pit Bull In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia teen who was having a seizure was attacked by her own pit bull inside her home Wednesday.
The incident happened at about 11 a.m. in the 5200 block of Arlington Street in the city's Wynnefield section.
Authorities say 19-year-old Kiers Parks, who has a history of seizures, was seizing on the floor when the family dog attacked her for some reason. The dog ripped off the teen's ear.
The victim's mother's fiancée found her on the floor and called for help. She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.
Police recovered the girl's ear and brought it to the hospital on ice. It was not immediately known if doctors were able to successfully re-attach the victim's ear.
The dog has been removed from the home by the SPCA.
