PSPCA: Hunter Calls About Mutilated Animal Remains Found
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says a man allegedly called them and identified himself as the person responsible for the mutilated remains of an animal found Sunday in North Philadelphia.
The remains were found in an empty lot near 30th and Jefferson Streets (See Previous Story).
The PSPCA says forensic veterinarians have examined the animal and believe that it is not domestic cat or dog, but appears to be a larger feline, possibly a bobcat.
Meanwhile, the PSPCA says a man called them Monday morning and identified himself as the person responsible for the carcass. According to the PSPCA, the man claims he is a licensed hunter and shot and killed the animal last month on a hunting trip.
The PSPCA says the man told them he skinned the animal while performing a taxidermy.
The investigation continues.
