Private Fall Festival Needs Financial Help This Year

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) -- A popular, privately run fall festival on one Mount Holly Street needs a little help to get up and running this year. Organizers have turned to the internet to get the word out.
For a dozen years, the Denisar family has hosted what's morphed into the Mount Holly Pumpkin Festival along Clifton Avenue, and paid for it themselves. It now spans a couple weeks around Halloween and attracts a couple thousand people.
Richard Denisar says this year, the money's just not there.
"We need to take care of some debt that we have on our own and we simply can't justify the money that it costs to do the festival on our own," said Denisar.
A couple weeks ago the family started a Go Fund Me campaign to raise the $7500 Richard says is needed to, among other things, purchase up to a thousand pumpkins.
So far, they've got about a quarter of that, and he's hopeful he'll get the rest together by the end of next week, when preliminary work starts on the festival. It might have to be cut back a bit, though.
