WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS) – Gender bias at work is a hot topic , but a new poll shows that most women don't feel that it affects them in terms of raises and promotions.
According to the August Gallup poll, 15% of American women feel they've been passed over for a promotion due to their gender, while 13% thought they'd been overlooked for a raise for the same reason.
Eighty-five-percent did not feel overlooked due to their gender.
Interestingly, Liberal women were the only group to perceive more gender discrimination, while Republican and conservative women were slightly less likely to feel discriminated against.
And among men, just 8% felt they'd been passed over for a promotion due to gender, and only 4% felt similarly about a raise.
