Teen's Priceless Violin Recovered In Philadelphia
By Tim Jimenez, Anne Marie Green, and Kim Glovas
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- That expensive violin left by an 18-year-old student on a bus has been recovered.
Philadelphia police scheduled a press conference for 3pm this afternoon "regarding the return of the missing Vencenco Jorio c. 1835 violin."
There, they announced that a company that cleans buses had found the violin and turned it in.
The instrument, valued at more than $170,000, went missing on Wednesday. It was last seen on Tuesday night on a Megabus, after the 18-year-old traveler got off the bus which she took from Boston to Philadelphia (see previous story).
Later on, when she realized she had forgotten the instrument, she returned to the bus company, but workers told her the bus had been cleaned and nothing had been found. There had apparently been a delay in getting the lost object from the cleaning company.

Muchen Hsieh put on a short performance at the 18th District police station in West Philadelphia after being reunited with her prized possession. She says a Taiwanese culture foundation lent her the violin for her studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston. It was made in 1835 by Vincenzo Jorio in Naples.
