Penn LGBT Student Athletes Compete In 5th Annual Pride Games

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Athletes and students joined together today at the University of Pennsylvania for the 5th Annual Pride Games. The goal is to increase acceptance of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transexual) community in sports.
For Penn student Jason Magnus the Pride Games are close to his heart. "I wasn't out when I first came to Penn and was on my team and I gradually came out and my team has been great about it and I just want to make sure that anyone who is in a similar position as me can be on teams that are as accepting as my team was."
Magnus is on the tennis team and is the chairman of PATH (Penn Athletes and Allies Tackling Homophobia).
Magnus says more than 150 people participated in a variety of games, including what he calls the famous "drag" race.
"Each team has clothes and lipstick and a necklace. Then, they have to go and put the lipstick on and then come back and then take it off and then each teammate has to go through and do the same thing. So, it's very funny and people have lipstick all over their faces. It's great."
Other competitions included an M&M race, food eating contest and three-legged race.
