Interview: The Music And Misunderstandings Of Megadeth's Dave Mustaine
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There's a new swagger to Dave Mustaine and Megadeth.
After a few shifts in their lineup and a disappointing release in 2013, the band seems to have settled into something more ferocious and comfortable. Adding a new drummer and guitarist for their latest Dystopia has injected a new spring into the step of leader Dave Mustaine – it also has them sounding more aggressive and vicious then they have in years.
Before a three decade-spanning show at Electric Factory in Philadelphia, Mustaine is slightly sick but jovial as he traverses the halls behind the stage. In a small office dubbed the "Jam Room", he enters – walking around the amps and electronic drum kit laid out in an effort to perfect that night's show. Here he tells us of his new-found fondness for his band, how the media misunderstands his politics, and much more.
