How To Go Big For New Year's Eve 2012 In Philadelphia

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --What's there to do on New Year's Eve? KYW's Hadas Kuznits has some suggestions.

For those willing to go big on New Year's Eve, there are a lot of options. Genevieve Onorato with Cescaphe says their newest catering venue, Vie on North Broad Street, is throwing a wedding-style bash for $160 a pop:

"You know, what we're doing is taking reservations here in the office, and then we're seating guests at large rounds, so everyone can kind of feel a little camaraderie."

Equally as swanky are the parties at Liberty 2. Kim Hallman with Daniel Stern Restaurants says there will be events at R2L on the 37th floor as well at the building's Penthouse event space on the 50th floor:

"There are views stretching about 40 miles in each direction from the 37th floor, so you can imagine if you take it 20 floors up, it is the best place to look out over Philadelphia as you ring in the New Year," Hallman explains.

But for the really big spenders, Peter Breslow with Independence Helicopter Fireworks Tours says you can watch the fireworks in a helicopter…for $800 a ride.

"[You] Pretty much watch the fireworks at eye level, or at some points, you can even look down on them," Breslow says.

And don't forget: KYW Newsradio will provide the soundtrack to the fireworks. Listen to 1060 AM while you're watching to get the full effect of the synchronized fireworks shows at 6 p.m. and midnight.
