Hooters Drummer Organizes Special Concert In Ardmore Friday
By Molly Daly
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An all-star lineup of local musicians will perform a special concert at the Ardmore Music Hall Friday night to celebrate the release the debut "In the Pocket" CD. The project is the brainchild of the longtime drummer for the Hooters.
David Uosikkinen's In the Pocket: Sessions CD is a celebration of Philly's finest musical moments.
"It's actually four years of work that we've done. Every three or four months, we get together and record an essential song of Philadelphia, and it's been great."

Perhaps most surprising is that it's all in a day's work.
"One day. We record it, we film it, we take photos, and we basically have soup to nuts in a day," Uosikkinen said.
The CD collects ten songs, until now only available by download, including "Open My Eyes,"
with Jeffrey Gaines singing lead.
"The amazing thing about Jeffrey that day is that he was jet-lagged. He came back from France -- he flew in that morning or the night before -- he was on the road with Joe Jackson -- and he came in and he crushed it."
Gaines will perform at the concert, along with the Soul Survivors, Tommy Conwell, and the Hooters.
"We have about 20 musicians gonna be hitting the stage that night. It's gonna rock -- it's gonna be a good one."
