Fall Garden Festival At The Navy Yard
By Phran Novelli
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Fall Garden Festival is all day Saturday, September 21st at the Navy Yard - from 10 am to 7 pm. It's free to enter and a great day out for all ages; with everything from bus tours around the historic Navy Yard to rides up into the treetops on bucket trucks, to pumpkin painting and veggie car races for kids, great local food for everyone to enjoy and, for adults, a beer garden plus a happy hour of locally-produced potent potables to end the day.
New this year is a Harvest Market where you can buy great local produce to take home too.
Plants for sale include trees, shrubs, perennials, and vegetables you can plant outside in your garden right now, as well as tropical plants to nurture and enjoy indoors all year. Plus, garden gifts, gadgets, and this year for the first time, a Flea Market of treasures and collectibles from the Philadelphia Flower Show.
