World's Most Negative Sales Trainer

The first time I heard of him was when I posted an entry titled "Never Cold Call Again" and got a nasty little note from him ordering me to change the title. Turns out that he had trademarked that phrase and didn't want me using it. I investigated a bit further and found out that that the reason he knew about such things was that he was guilty of treading on other people's trademarks. I wrote about this in "Don't EVER Cold Call Again."

The second time Rumbauskas popped up on my radar screen was when somebody emailed me pointing out that Frank also has a blog entitled "Scottsdale Sucks" where he complains about the city of Scottsdale AZ. Frankly, I think the anti-Scottsdale screeds are sophomoric, but that's not the point. Here's a guy who has a worldview where everything "SUCKS." I can't imagine why anybody in the world would want to spend three minutes with him, let alone hear an entire program.

As for his ideas on sales, they sound like they're ripped off from Seth Godin and Joanne Black. Nothing original there -- other than his extremely aggressive and arrogant delivery. But, then, that's just my opinion. I'm curious what you guys think. Is there something here I'm missing? Have I sold this guy short?
