A while back I asked Sales Machine readers to identify the most important skills that every sales professional should possess. (See: "Top 10 Sales Skills".) However, it recently occurred to me that all sales skills are not created equal and that, while many skills can be important, there must be ONE that is more important than the rest.
So I thought I'd run a poll and find out. and as defined by myself and Sales Machine readers. Here it is:

My opinion is that #20 is the most important, because it's a life skill, not a sales skill. But that's just me.
