Watch: Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges join the "R.I.P.D."
Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges are teaming up to kick some butt -- some dead butt. And dead or alive, we couldn't have asked for a better pairing.
Their film, titled "R.I.P.D.," stands for the Rest In Peace Department, an organization of dead law enforcement officials who protect the Earth from all manner of demons, monsters, evil beings and who knows what else -- but if it's bad, they're on it.
Reynolds plays a Boston cop killed in the line of duty, who then gets assigned to work with Bridges, an old-school sheriff with a no-nonsense, gruff manner (when Reynolds tries to shake his hand, he replies: "No. You got to earn that."). Mary-Louise Parker also co-stars in this film, bringing with her her knack for sarcastic one-liners, such as "I think your smellin' what I'm sellin'."
Robert Schwentke ("Flight Plan") directs "R.I.P.D.," which is based on the comic of the same name. The film is out on July 19, assuming of course what Bridges' states in the film: "That went well...assuming the world don't end."
