Want to Woo More Customers to Your Facebook Page? There's an App for That

Your Facebook page is a potential goldmine. The only hard part is getting new and potential customers to visit it (and, ideally, "like" it).

Remember Woobox? It's the service that lets you create coupons and other special offers for your Facebook and Twitter followers. Now, thanks to a newly added app, Woobox also lets you hold a sweepstakes or giveaway right on your Facebook page.

As with setting up coupons, setting up a sweepstakes is quite easy: you just plug in the details. Your options including limiting entries to one per Facebook user and, even better, requiring users to be a Twitter and/or Facebook follower. You can even set a requirement that users have to share the sweepstakes with their own Twitter followers. These are surefire ways to grow your "fan" base.

When the sweepstakes is over, you can download all the entries, including users' e-mail addresses. Again, talk about marketing gold.

To take advantage of the sweepstakes app, you'll have to sign up for a Woobox Pro plan at $29/month. There's also a free plan, but it limits you to basic coupons and 50 vouchers per month.

I'm a huge, huge fan of sweepstakes, contests, and the like -- not just as a onetime business owner myself, but as a consumer. If some company was giving away, say, an iPad, I wouldn't hesitate to follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter. Food for thought.
