Unplugged: Magazine Editor Garrett Graff

by CBS News' Kaylee Hartung

In 2005, Garrett Graff, then just 23-years-old, was the first blogger credentialed to cover the White House's daily press briefings. Now 28, this new media expert is taking over the reins of a Washington media establishment.

Washingtonian magazine has served the greater Washington area for 44 years. Graff becomes only the third editor in the magazine's storied history, replacing long time editor Jack Limpert who held the job for 40 years.

We profiled Graff on today's episode of "Washington Unplugged."

Though the magazine has faced layoffs and declining advertising revenue, Graff says in this "Golden Age of Washington" that he's confident the magazine has a niche to fill.

"For city magazines like Washingtonian service sells. People really turn to us for the best restaurants, the best doctors, the best places to shop. And that's one of the reasons that a third of our entire editorial staff are food critics," he said.
