The latest storm to kick up its heels is Tropical Storm Lisa. According to Reuters, Lisa is chugging along about 530 miles west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands and isn't expected to hit land.

But even if Lisa doesn't march onto American soil, now is still a good time to brush up on hurricane self-defense.
