Tommy Chong says he has cancer again

Tommy Chong says he's battling cancer again -- this time it's rectal cancer.

The "Cheech & Chong" star took to Twitter Wednesday with the news: "I have good and bad news," Chong tweeted. "First the bad news, the cancer came back and it's a real pain in the butt."

"The good news is I now have to use more marijuana to treat the cancer," he jested, adding that he will be documenting his fight on his Chong and Chong podcast.

This isn't Chong's first brush with cancer; in 2012 he battled stage-one prostate cancer and won, and two years later he competed on "Dancing with the Stars" (but lost).

Chong and his acting partner, Cheech Marin, rose to fame in the early '70s with a series of comedy albums, which were followed by the 1978 film, "Up in Smoke."

Chong, 77, also had a role on "That '70s Show." He more recently made appearances on "Franklin & Bash," "The Millers" and "Raising Hope."
