Tim Brando

Brando is now in his fifth year as play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports' NCAA tournament coverage. He currently serves as host of College Football Today and has served as host of AT THE HALF, CBS' college basketball halftime show. He also does play-by-play for the NFL on CBS.

Brando called play-by-play for CBS Sports' regular-season college football coverage in 1997 and the 1998 Fiesta Bowl. He has called play-by-play for SEC football and basketball games and SportSouth Television's coverage of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks.

He was the studio host for SportsCenter, ESPN's college football halftime show (1986-94) and ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship (1987-90). While at ESPN, he covered 25 different sports. In addition, he served as a play-by-play announcer for TNT during the 1994 NBA Playoffs. He was the sports director at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge and the voice of LSU basketball games (1981-86).

Brando was graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in 1978 with a degree in radio/television management. He was born Feb. 27, 1956 in Shreveport, La., where he continues to live with his wife, Terri, and their two daughters, Tiffany and Tara.
