This robot folds towels - and socks (video)
A Robotics engineer at the University of California at Berkeley has invented a robot folds towels and socks.
"Doing laundry completely, setting a table, maybe cleaning up after a kid has been playing - these are the kind of tasks a lot of people in different places are doing research on," said the professor, Pieter Abbe. "And, we're making progress."
But one step at a time: Abbee says that it may take another decade before robots are up to the task of doing the full menu of everyday household chores. Still, that promise must sound like music to the ears of tens of millions of people around the world - yours truly, included - who are simply washouts when it comes to dry folding laundry.
