Herb Weisbaum has been covering consumer issues for more than 20 years, protecting people against fraud and guiding them to economical buys. In that time, he's seen it all and reported it all, from quack medications to bogus investments.
Weisbaum's reports can been seen weekly on CBS News This Morning and CBS News Saturday Morning. His highly-praised This Morning Toy Test series helps millions of parents pick good toys for their kids each year.
Weisbaum has won numerous awards, including five Emmy Awards. In June 1994, he received the consumer world's top honor, the Betty Furness Consumer Media Service Award presented by the Consumer Federation of America. His reporting has also been honored by The Associated Press, The Columbia Journalism Review, and the Society of Professional Journalists.
He graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1974 with a bachelor of science in television-radio journalism and a bachelor of science in advertising. He and his wife Debra and their dog Cody live in Seattle.
