The Microsoft Pub Lives!

This story was written by Joseph Tartakoff.

That's right. Less than a week after killing plans for a pub on its Redmond campus just as it was set to open, Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) has changed its mind once again. Seattle tech news site TechFlash reports that the bar will open after allbut only for "scheduled gatherings and catered events." Lunch will also be servedminus any alcohol. A Microsoft spokesman tells TechFlash, "Being that we're in the middle of a business campus, we had to be sensitive to the fact that we're a business," adding that the company was able to find a "happy medium." Still no word on why Microsoft decided at the last minute that the bar might not be appropriate for a business setting, considering its opening had been planned for more than a year.
