The iPad Gets a Launch Date: April 3

It's official: Apple's much-ballyhooed iPad tablet will arrive on Saturday, April 3, and you can get your preorder in starting March 12. That's for the Wi-Fi models; the 3G versions will drop later next month.

Of course, if our recent poll is any indication, at least half of you have no plans to buy one. A third of you are on the fence, and only about 13 percent are planning to pull the trigger.

Ah, but that poll was conducted about six weeks ago. Have you had a change of heart? Hit the comments and let us know your current thinking on this notorious product.

As I noted yesterday in my hands-on look at the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t, a netbook that doubles as a tablet, I'm still not seeing the appeal. What does a tablet -- any tablet -- offer me that a netbook doesn't? Maybe once I get my hands on an iPad, I'll figure that out.
