Simpson, Mayer Ring In New Year Together
John Mayer and Jessica Simpson made an appearance at Christina Aguilera's New Year's Eve bash at the Hudson Hotel in New York City over the weekend.
A rep for the party told The ShowBuzz that Simpson and Mayer arrived late, did not do red carpet interviews and stayed in the V.I.P. area all night.
The Daily News reported Tuesday that the singers rang in the New Year with a "full-on making out" session. The newspaper says the lip lock marks the first public acknowledgment of a relationship they have been denying since last summer.
According to the newspaper, Simpson and Mayer are staying at Manhattan's Mercer hotel and dined together and shopped at Barneys on New Year's Eve.
"John has been thrilled that they have been tricking the media, but she doesn't really care. His Christmas present to her was a framed copy of the Us Weekly cover that says 'Dumped: John ditches Jessica,' " an insider told the newspaper.
Meanwhile, it looks like Simpson's ex, Nick Lachey, has also moved on. Lachey and his main squeeze, Vanessa Minnillo, kissed on stage just after midnight at MTV's New Year's Eve party at the MTV Times Square Studios in New York City.Photos: Jessica Simpson
"Everyone that is important in my life is here. I literally choked up. I'm just so happy," Minnillo said of the tears that followed the intimate moment.
"Vanessa always looks gorgeous," Lachey told People of his New Year's date.
