Share Documents Online with Docstoc

docstoc.jpg
A kind of YouTube for documents, Docstoc provides an online repository for professional documents. The service, which just came out of private beta, offers categories such as business, creative, educational, financial, and legal. You can search and peruse the existing library of documents (which currently numbers close to 15,000) and upload your own, sharing them publicly or privately.

The documents themselves can be Word or Excel files, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, or Rich Text files. A built-in viewer lets you read any document in your browser, print it, download it, and e-mail it to other users. There's also an option to embed Docstoc documents in your own site, just like with YouTube videos.

This could be an ideal solution for businesses wanting to share documents with clients or co-workers -- or, if the situation warrants, the world. Docstoc bears more than a passing resemblance to Scribd, which has been around since March, but it has a decidedly business-oriented focus. Check it out -- it's really cool. [via TechCrunch]
