Sell Your Old iPhone for About $200

When the new iPhone comes out tomorrow, I plan to be in line at the local AT&T store, which claims to have enough stock on hand to accommodate a few walk-in customers. The only problem is that I'm only a year into my 2-year contract on my existing iPhone 3GS, and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the non-upgrade price.

The solution I've landed on: I'll buy the iPhone at the new account price for my wife (whose phone is long out of contract) and then switch, giving her my old iPhone and taking her new one. That'll make everyone happy. But what if you don't have a spouse handy for a similar trick? Well, you can sell your old iPhone and get at least $200 out of the deal.

A site called NextWorth is snagging iPhones (and other gadgets, for that matter), refurbishing them, and selling them used.

I visited NextWorth and entered the basic stats on my 3GS (black, 16GB, average wear and tear, still have the accessories) and the site reports it'll give me $204 for my trouble. That's not bad - it's about what I think I could sell it for on eBay, and this removes a large amount of hassle and worry from the transaction. [via AppScout]
